The Imagine Initiative serves as a requesting agency for CarePortal, a powerful platform designed to connect churches and individuals with children and families in need right here in Lee County. We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to submit requests for assistance when a legitimate need arises within your school community.

We recognize that the needs you encounter are many and can often feel overwhelming. However, before a request is submitted, CarePortal requires that the need be thoroughly vetted to ensure it is accurate, legitimate, and essential to the wellbeing of a child or family connected to your school.

Please note that each family is limited to one CarePortal submission. We understand that there are likely several moments throughout the year when you’ll be moved to seek help on behalf of students facing difficult circumstances. With this in mind, we ask that you carefully consider the timing and significance of each request.

Because The Imagine Initiative may not be directly familiar with the family in need, we kindly ask that your request include a brief explanation of how meeting the need will positively impact the child’s wellbeing or academic success. We've found that when donors understand the “why” behind a request, they are more likely to respond generously.

At this time, CarePortal has placed a temporary pause on monetary-based requests. We will notify you as soon as this changes. In the meantime, only physical needs may be submitted. The most frequently requested and fulfilled items on CarePortal include: beds/cribs, dressers, living room furniture, car seats, and seasonal items (e.g., clothing, shoes)

Each request must include an estimated value, as CarePortal has a maximum limit of $500 per submission. For example: Twin mattress – $200, Twin bed frame – $200, School uniforms – $100

If you know the approximate cost of the items, please include that in your submission. If not, we will assign a reasonable estimate.

One of the most appreciated aspects of this program is that local churches deliver the items directly to families, which greatly reduces the burden on school staff and social workers. That said, if you’re aware of any concerns about the delivery environment (e.g., safety or privacy issues), please communicate that when making the request. An alternative drop-off location—such as the school parking lot—can be arranged.

If you have any questions or need assistance with the process at any point, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always happy to help. Thank you for your dedication to the students and families in your care. We’re looking forward to partnering with you for a great school year!
